She'd Get my Vote
Al Queda's western media offices at CNN had a journalistic IED detonate and leave egg all over Wolf Blitzer's face on Friday. The intended target was Lynne Cheney but she did a masterful job of controlling the interview and turning the tables on the DNC apologist Blitzer.
I didn't have the privilege of seeing the interview first hand but I heard Rush talk about it and Hugh Hewitt has the transcript. Ostensibly, the interview was to be about Mrs. Cheney's new book, The 50 States. By the way, she is the wife of the Vice President of the United States. She should be referred to as "Mrs. Cheney," not Lynne, or any other name of familiarity. But far be it from the MSM to show proper respect to a wonderful lady. Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
Instead of talking bout her new book, Blitzer (who deserves no respect) sandbagged Mrs. Cheney with talk about everything from the pornography of James Webb to misquoting Mr. Cheney and twisting his words into something that he never said.
Mrs. Cheney at first tried to keep Blitzer on topic but he was in a froth. He had in mind to embarrass her and to make her look uninformed. Finally she let him have it with both barrels and Wolfie realized he had walked into a gunfight with a pocket knife. When he realized that he had lost the argument, the interview, and that the DNC talking points were blasted to kingdom come, Blitzer vainly tried to get to her book. Mrs. Cheney didn't let him off easy and pressed the point. Finally, Blitzer spent the last few minutes talking about her book and her passion for it. Read the interview for yourself. This lady is a winner.
I'll start it right here and right now. Lynne Cheney, '08.
