You Want to Talk Moral Authority??

Madeleine Albright told some 6500 Emory University students yesterday that the United States has lost its moral authority and that it was up to the next President to restore the “goodness of American power.” The fact that she was on the program with Jimmy Carter tells you how she feels. I know that’s a sweeping generalization but she was agreeing with Carter and joining him in attacking the US in a time of war. I’m right, get over it.

Exactly what moral authority is she talking about? Is she speaking of her impotent boss Carter from when she was in national security? Let’s see, if I remember correctly, under Carter we cowed to the Soviet Union, let the Saudis wreck our economy, and allowed our embassy to be taken hostage for over a year by truant college students. All that was done in response was a flaccid attempt to rescue them that ended in disaster because the Dems had gutted the military of funding and the equipment was marginally functional.

Perhaps she’s speaking of the moral authority of her most recent boss, ‘let me show you my’ Slick Willie. I remember he was high in moral authority. No wait, he wasn’t. He said that he didn’t inhale. That’s right; he had interns under his desk while he discussed foreign policy and national security issues with congressional leaders and heads of state. He managed to bomb and abandoned aspirin factory. He did start a war in the Slavic nations to take his peccadilloes off of the front page. Lots of morality there.

But most important, since when do we need the tacit approval of any country to defend ourselves from attack? Yes that means that sometimes we have to be preemptive. We need no moral authority from any other nation on the planet to act in our own best interests. I have read lots of stuff about this being an American empire. The difference between this and British, Roman, Persian, Babylonian, or Alexandrian Empires is that we don’t require other governments to capitulate to our government. We aren’t spreading our borders and government to other countries. We have influenced other countries to embrace self rule.

The difficulty in Iraq is that we had to show them what that looks like. It hasn’t worked. Finally they are developing their own version of democracy. It has some corruption. It has opponents who would seize power for themselves. They are the ones responsible for the thousands dead in the sands of Iraq. But they are fashioning a democracy in their image. We are there to fan the flames of that democracy and protect it until they are capable of protecting it themselves. That is the most moral thing that we can do. Authority be damned.

Now He's Done It

I wouldn’t be getting on an airplane with David Geffen anytime soon. Mr. Geffen had the audacity to speak out against the Clinton “family” and the track record says that he may fall victim to an unfortunate accident. I mean how else do you explain the untimely and accidental deaths of 46 Clinton friends and associates? I know that James McDougal ate too much fried chicken and probably had more junk in his arteries than Fred Sanford. But look at some of the others and the smoke is leading to something.

Most people may know one or at the most two people who die accidentally in their lifetimes. But 46? To put that in perspective, if an average sized school bus that is filled to its authorized capacity plus the driver should happen to be hit by a train and every person on the bus die, you still wouldn’t have 46 people. There are fewer people on an active NFL roster on game day. Puhleeeez.

And the causes of death in some of these ‘accidents’ is beyond the suspension of disbelief. Look at Ron Brown. The cause of death was a plane crash right? But how do you explain the hole in his head that one pathologist described as ‘consistent with a gunshot wound?’ How about Suzanne Coleman? She is reported to have committed suicide by shooting herself in the BACK of her head. James Milan was found decapitated. That was ruled a suicide too. And then there is Vince Foster. He committed suicide in Ft. Marcy Park supposedly. But there was no evidence that he was shot there. No blood, not a fiber, nothing. There was a disturbance around the body that suggested that the body had been moved though.

Nope, I wouldn’t be getting on a plane with David Geffen. As a matter of fact, if I was a friend of his, I wouldn’t get anywhere near him. He made Hillary mad. With the Clintons it’s not business, it’s personal.

Terrorists Who Suck

It's been awhile since I posted a pure "Terrorists Who Suck" post and we need an update. After careful research, it's been determined that terrorists still haven't learned and they still suck. I love the first event.

GI 1: "Hey, those guys look like sucky terrorists!"
GI 2: "Are you sure?"
GI 1: "Yep. Watch."
GI 1: "SUCKY TERRORISTS, SURRENDER NOW OR DIE!"
ST 1-2: "ULULULULUL - INFIDELS!"
BAM! BAM!
GI 2: "Yep, they were terrorists alright." "Look! There's four more!"
GI 1: "It looks like they are carrying AK-47s, hand grenades, and vests with magazines in them."
GI 2: "What kind of magazines?"
GI 1: "It looks like 'Girls in Burkas Gone Wild on Spring Break in Egypt."
GI 2: "STOP AND SURRENDER YOU STUPID SUCKY PERVERTED TERRORISTS!"
ST 3-6: "NO!"
GI 1: "PLEASE?!"
ST 3-6: "ULULULULU - derka, derka, derka...INFIDELS!"
BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM!

Or something like that. Here's CENTAF's boring version.

Murtha: I Support the Troops

Friday, Rep John Murtha declared that he supported the US troops by wishing for their swift deaths. Our troops are living in the laps of luxury in Iraq. Forget the hundreds of thousand that live in tents for up to 12 months at a time. Forget the thousands who would give anything for a real bed. Murtha says that's not true. To him, our guys and gals are all living in the luxury of Saddam's palaces. Murtha claims not to begrudge these brave men and women, but... There is always a butt.

Rep Murtha says that it is deplorable that our troops live in luxury while just outside the palace gates Iraqis are living without electricity. Never mind that the neighborhoods that he's talking about have NEVER had electricity. Never mind that the few hundred troops that are living on the palace compound are living in barracks of former guards and the actual palace buildings are used for command and control office space. That's a real inconvenient truth.

What is Rep Mutha's solution to right this horrible inequity? He proposes to kill our troops by denying them the very thing that they need most, more help. By placing a litany of red herring conditions on the funding for the troop deployment, Ex-Marine Murtha paints a target on troops who are already in harm's way. The truth of the matter is that Mr. Murtha is a typical anti-war, anti-military, unindicted co-conspirator. Murtha has lined up the firing squad and called, "Ready! Aim! Fire!" at our troops. Brit Hume is right. John Murtha has lost touch with what is going on in the world. The sad fact is that he is the cheerleader for a chorus of shrill democrat sirens that want the military humiliated whatever the cost and they are willing to say and do anything to achieve that end. May Rep Murtha experience the same gratitude that he shows the Americans serving overseas in the lap of luxury.
